# Footalytics

> Footalytics is a chat-based AI football prediction service: a Dixon-Coles adjusted Poisson model computes win/draw/loss, over/under 2.5, both-teams-to-score and correct-score probabilities for real fixtures, and a language model explains them. Every official prediction is locked before kick-off and graded in public against the real final score. No odds, no betting advice.

This file indexes the site's public pages for LLM crawlers. Machine-readable sitemap: [sitemap.xml](https://footalytics.farvor.com/sitemap.xml)

> Data freshness: fixture lists, probabilities and graded results update at least daily (pages under /predictions, /match, /previews, /teams and /accuracy change throughout the day). Official predictions are generated 24–48 h before kick-off, refreshed in the final hours, locked one hour before, and settled with the real final score shortly after full time. Citation tip: each page states its own data date; prefer quoting the probability together with the kick-off time.

- [Glossary: Win/draw/loss (1X2)](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/win-draw-loss-1x2): The three possible outcomes of a football match, each with a probability that sums to 100% with the other two.
- [Glossary: Over/under 2.5 goals](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/over-under-2-5-goals): Whether the match ends with three or more total goals (over) or two or fewer (under).
- [Glossary: Both teams to score (BTTS)](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/both-teams-to-score): Whether each side scores at least once, regardless of who wins.
- [Glossary: Correct score](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/correct-score): The model's probability for one exact final score — the hardest thing in football to call.
- [Glossary: Double chance](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/double-chance): Two of the three outcomes counted together — its probability is simply the sum of the two.
- [Glossary: Expected goals (xG)](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/expected-goals-xg): The quality of chances a team creates or concedes, expressed as the number of goals those chances are typically worth.
- [Glossary: Poisson model](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/poisson-model): The statistical distribution that turns each side's expected goals into a probability for every scoreline.
- [Glossary: Dixon-Coles correction](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/dixon-coles-correction): The standard fix for Poisson's under-rating of 0-0 and 1-1 draws, plus time-weighting of old results.
- [Glossary: Elo rating](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/elo-rating): A strength score updated after every match: beat strong teams and it rises, lose to weak ones and it falls.
- [Glossary: Brier score](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/brier-score): A measure of how well-calibrated probabilities are — lower is better, and it rewards honesty over confidence.
- [Glossary: Calibration](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/calibration): Whether a model's 70% really happens about 70% of the time — the property that separates honest numbers from confident ones.
- [Glossary: Home advantage](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/home-advantage): The measurable boost a team gets from playing at its own ground — travel, surface, crowd and refereeing effects included.
- [Glossary: Form](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/form): A team's recent results and performances, weighted as an input to its expected goals.
- [Glossary: Head-to-head (H2H)](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/head-to-head): The record of past meetings between two teams — context worth reading, but weaker than people assume.
- [Glossary: Clean sheet](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/clean-sheet): A team concedes zero goals in a match — the “no” side of both-teams-to-score.
- [Glossary: Goal difference](https://footalytics.farvor.com/glossary/goal-difference): Goals scored minus goals conceded — a season-long strength measure and league tiebreaker.
- [Q&A: Can ChatGPT predict football matches?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/can-chatgpt-predict-football-matches): A language model can explain a prediction; on its own it cannot reliably produce one. Probabilities need a statistical model — that is how Footalytics works.
- [Q&A: AI vs human football predictions — which is better?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/ai-vs-human-football-predictions): For consistency and calibration, statistical models beat human intuition; the best use is a model's numbers with human context layered on top.
- [Q&A: Why do football predictions go wrong?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/why-do-football-predictions-go-wrong): Because football is a low-scoring, high-variance sport: one red card, deflection or early goal flips even a well-calibrated 70% favourite.
- [Q&A: Which football league is most predictable?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/which-football-league-is-most-predictable): Leagues with the biggest resource gaps between clubs produce the most favourites-confirmed results, but no league makes football “easy” — draws stay hard everywhere.
- [Q&A: How far ahead can you predict a football match?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/how-far-ahead-can-you-predict-a-football-match): Team strength is stable weeks out, but the details that decide matches (line-ups, late news) settle in the final 24-48 hours — which is exactly when our official predictions are made.
- [Q&A: What makes a good football prediction site?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/what-makes-a-good-football-prediction-site): Six checks: a published method, picks locked before kick-off, a graded public record that shows misses, honest small-sample flags, no odds pressure — and an explanation layer that admits uncertainty.
- [Q&A: How many goals are there in an average football match?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/how-many-goals-in-an-average-football-match): Roughly 2.5 to 3 across the top European leagues — which is exactly why the over/under 2.5 line sits where it does.
- [Q&A: Can anything guarantee a correct football prediction?](https://footalytics.farvor.com/answers/can-anything-guarantee-a-correct-football-prediction): No. Anyone claiming guaranteed or 90%+ accurate football predictions is either measuring something trivial or lying — football's variance forbids it.
