About KickOff.ai

KickOff.ai comes from EPFL's INDY Lab and applies the "Kickscore" dynamic pairwise-comparison model with Bayesian uncertainty. It publishes pure win/draw/loss probabilities and its own log-loss score. There is no product around it.

Time-varying pairwise comparison (KDD 2019 paper) with near-century-long history — one of the few publicly documented academic approaches.

  • Pure 1X2 probabilities
  • Self-reported log loss

Where Footalytics differs

● A product, not a demo: match previews, market probabilities, guides and a chat — plus the same spirit of publishing calibration metrics.

● Every official prediction is locked before kick-off and graded against the real final score in public — hits and misses, plus a downloadable CSV of every settled pick.

● Coverage: curated leagues with full fixture pages instead of a research subset.

FAQ

Is KickOff.ai still active?

Yes, it keeps predicting and is a great free reference — but it is a research artefact, not a service. If you need explanations, coverage and a graded product record, that is Footalytics.

What is Kickscore?

EPFL's time-varying pairwise-comparison model for sports, published at KDD 2019. Footalytics uses Elo-style ratings with form and home advantage instead — a simpler, fully documented pipeline.

KickOff.ai vs Footalytics accuracy?

Both publish calibration-style metrics, which is the honest way to compare: check the dashboard's Brier score against KickOff.ai's log loss. Absolute claims beyond the 50–60% band deserve skepticism anywhere.
