Glossary › Double chance
Definition
Double chance
Two of the three outcomes counted together — its probability is simply the sum of the two.
Definition
1X = home win or draw; 12 = either side wins (no draw); X2 = draw or away win. Because the three outcomes are exhaustive, a double-chance probability is just the sum of its two parts: 55% + 25% = 80% for 1X.
Why it matters for reading predictions
Double chance is the clearest way to express how uncertain a favourite is: an 80% 1X still fails one time in five.
FAQ

Add the two covered outcomes' probabilities from the same model output.
Is 12 the same as no draw?
Yes — it means the match ends in a win for one side.
