Glossary › Clean sheet
Definition
Clean sheet
A team concedes zero goals in a match — the “no” side of both-teams-to-score.
Definition and links
A clean sheet is any win or draw in which the team concedes none (1-0, 2-0, 0-0…). Every clean sheet is also a BTTS-no outcome, and heavy favourites' clean-sheet probability is the mirror of their opponent's failure-to-score chance.
In the scoreline matrix
The Poisson matrix makes clean-sheet probabilities direct sums: add every scoreline where one side scores zero.
FAQ
Does a 0-0 count as a clean sheet for both?
Yes — both keep a clean sheet, and BTTS is no.
Do you publish clean-sheet probabilities?
Indirectly: BTTS-no on any match equals at least one clean sheet. Ask the AI per match.
