Definition
Head-to-head (H2H)
The record of past meetings between two teams — context worth reading, but weaker than people assume.
Why H2H understates
Past meetings often involve different players, managers and even divisions. The pattern a rival held three seasons ago usually says little about today's sides — current strength ratings predict better.
Where it helps
H2H is a useful sanity check on extreme numbers and a good source of narrative context — ask the AI for it on any match page.
FAQ
Does H2H predict football matches?
Weakly, on its own. Models that lean on it heavily tend to lag reality after squad turnover.
Can I ask about H2H here?
Yes — every match page has one-tap questions including head-to-head form.
